As a resident of Sparks, NV I find transportation options to be limited. The bus service is okay but nowhere near my community. I usually combine driving with bus service to create a terrible experience. Cabs are either near the casino's or airport. I don't want to wait for a ride. So figured UBER would be a win-win for drivers and passengers.
About me and my experience getting a driver account.
The online interface is pretty good. I had no trouble creating an account and uploading the required documents to UBER.
Once the inspection was complete I added photos of the documents to UBER. They prompted me to watch a youtube video about how the uber system works. I proceeded to select SAVE & CONTINUE on my iPhone. My application to be an UBER driver is complete. Now I wait about 1-2 days to see if I can drive as an UBER driver in Reno, Nevada.

10/26/2014 update: Uber is suspiciousely getting on my nerves
I'll preface this part with the fact that this is my first interaction with an Uber employee or contractor. I got the email intended to clear up any confusion about driving for Uber in Nevada. It appears that if I have any questions, concerns or comments that I can call 844-906-0430 which is set up as a hotline for drivers. I had a question so I called.
I would like to know if Nevada drivers applications are being processed in light of the recent court ruling.
I called at 11:30am and was greeted by a cold voice on the other end. It was something like this;
"Are you calling to report an accident, citation, tow or other emergency?
This line is only to report an accident, citation, tow or other emergency. Please direct your questions to our website.
Okay, I was told I could call this number with any questions, concerns or comments."
Shortly after going in circles I simply hung up. I then went to their website and emailed them at partnersRENO@uber.com
I have included a photo of my email for you to read.
Application process is very lengthy. Be patient?
On October 28th I got an email about the first part of a background check that was in process. The company had made a typo in the state on my address. I contacted them. They were very professional. We made no changes but everyone was happy with the call.
On November 1st I noticed a $1 charge on my paypal account. I am going to assume that it is to test the account I registered for payment works. It may not be a charge. It may be a deposit. Either way it remains pending ten days later.
On November 4th I got a second email with a copy of a deeper level background check. These background checks are for a seven year history. Everything is accurate and I see no problems with this process.
It is now November 10th 2014 and I am not yet a driver. So I will continue to wait.
November 19th update:
A phone call from Uber kickstarted the driver application process again. A diligent employee announced that my background check has cleared. She asked if I'm still interested in being a driver. I replied yes and she outlined the additional documents needed. I have provided all documents except the photos of the cars backseat and the profile picture of the passenger side of the car. I washed my car today so the timing is perfect. I'll email the photos in the morning.
Success: I'm now an UBER Driver! Or am I...?
Important Update: Uber received a temporary court order today suspending operations in NV and your ability to partner. Read more at t.uber.com/renoupdate
