Tilley Endurables LTM3 Airflo Hat
After owning a Tilley TM10 Wide Brim for a year I wanted a hat that was a little lighter weight for the quick adventure. The brim on this LTM3 is also a little bit thinner then my first hat.
Like nearly all the Tilley Hats there is a chin strap that will keep the hat in your possession, if you use it like you should, during a strong wind. The snaps allow the sides of the brim to be brought up for a more stream lined profile. This is great if you are fighting a crowd at an outdoor festival or a farmers market.
Shop around then shop Tilley
Before I spent $80 on this hat I compared it's quality and features to comparable hats. There are cowboy hats, there are bucket hats and there are straw hats. It was really difficult to find a hat that could offer the protection from the sun and also last for years and years. It was nearly impossible to find a hat that was both durable, fashionable, functional and fit me comfortably.
This page is pretty much a sales page for the hat. If you click thru the links I provide then you will be taken to the product on Amazon's page. The price is unchanged for you and I will receive a small commission from them.
Sizing for the hat is 78% true to size for most customers. If you are concerned about sizing then I encourage you to go visit your local specialty sporting goods store that carry Tilley Hat's and try on the product. You should be able to fit two fingers between your forehead and the hat.
Once you have the sizing figured out for your head then I think you will find the price on Amazon to be extremely competitive and convent. It's not uncommon for the store location to increase the hats cost to offset the cost of staffing.
